About

Justin C. Hall, M.D. received his undergraduate degree from the University of Nevada at Reno with a B.S. in Biology.   He is a graduate of the University of Nevada School of Medicine and did his adult psychiatry residency and child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Dr. Hall has more than fifteen years of post-graduate experience working in predominantly outpatient settings with a broad range of clients.  He is comfortable treating a wide range of mental health disorders including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia in adults and children and specializes in behavioral disorders and developmental delays in children and adolescents.  He treats ADHD and enjoys working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)/Asperger's.

Dr. Hall employs primarily psychopharmacologic interventions and is well versed in various therapeutic modalities including individual, couples, family, cognitive behavioral therapy and trauma focused therapy.  Dr. Hall works in conjunction with his clients, listens to their concerns and strives to keep medications and side effects to a minimum while adequately treating the underlying psychiatric or psychodynamic issue.

Dr. Hall has a wide range of life experiences and enjoys being active.   He was a Peace Corps Volunteer in the African country of Cameroon where he worked as an aquaculture specialist building fish ponds.  He was a competitive runner, skiier, and cyclist growing up in Nevada and understands patients' desire to be healthy and in good shape.   Dr. Hall is married, has two young boys and enjoys being active outside.

I drew inspiration for naming my practice Blue Heron as I think it is not only one of the most beautiful, iconic birds in the Chesapeake Bay region but is also symbolic of self-reliance, self-determination and the ability to evolve.
